The creation of 'Tryptique' began in 2004 when the composer wished to write a first piece for his two instruments, clarinet & piano. After the score had spent two years in a drawer, work was rekindled by the enthusiastic support of his colleague and clarinettist, Max Mausen, to whom the work is dedicated.
In terms of style, the work is strongly influenced by the British music for clarinet, a repertory particularly appreciated by the composer during his clarinet student years.
